Run your go-e charging station from Home Assistant
Charge your electric car when the sun is out or when electricity is cheap, with a go-e charging station controlled from Home Assistant.
What it does
- Charges the car with the surplus from your solar panels, without the go-e Controller box.
- Pick a mode in one tap: off, charge now, solar surplus, automatic, dynamic tariff or static tariff.
- Charges in off-peak hours, following a dynamic-tariff calendar or a static-tariff sensor, up to the battery level you aim for.
- Sets the charge level to reach for the car’s battery.
- Switches by itself between single-phase and three-phase charging, depending on the sun available.
- Protects your installation: the power drawn from the grid is capped, to spare the circuit breaker.
- Can stop the home battery from draining into the car.
- An optional “Mobility” dashboard gathers the controls and settings.
How it works
- Turn on packagesOnce, add one line to Home Assistant’s configuration so it loads the files in the “packages” folder.
- Copy the fileDownload the package from GitHub into Home Assistant’s configuration folder.
- Adapt and restartReplace the serial number and address with those of your charger, check the configuration, then pick your mode in the interface.
Good to know
- This is not an HACS integration. It is a configuration file (a “package”) that you copy into Home Assistant and then adapt, with your charger’s serial number and address. The guide on GitHub covers each step.
- Tested on the Gemini model, with software 60.6. Other go-e models are not covered.
- The guide’s examples use specific devices (a P1 meter, a SolarEdge inverter, a BYD car). Adapt the names, or remove the car automations if you do not have one.
- The automatic tests check the logic, not the real charger. Check the result on your own charger after every change.
- The guide on GitHub is written in French.
